Water fed pole systems and pure water machines

A water fed pole system does three jobs: it purifies tap water, pumps it up a telescopic pole and lets a brush do the cleaning at height while you stay on the ground. Pure water dries without spots, so there is no squeegee, ladder or lift. Below you will find Mansser pure water machines and complete kits for windows, facades and solar panels, from a compact starter set to a heated system built for PV farms.

How a pure water window cleaning system works

Tap water carries dissolved minerals, measured as TDS (total dissolved solids). When it dries on glass, those minerals stay behind as spots. A pure water system strips them out, bringing the water down to 0 ppm. You scrub the surface with the brush, rinse with pure water and leave it to dry. Nothing is left on the glass, so there is nothing to wipe.

Every system has the same building blocks: a filtration unit, a pump, a hose, a telescopic pole and a brush. The differences are in filtration, pump output and what the machine adds on top, such as heated water or detergent dosing.

RO/DI system or DI only?

A DI-only system uses resin alone. It costs less up front, but with hard water the resin is used up quickly and has to be replaced often. An RO/DI system first sends water through a reverse osmosis membrane, which removes most dissolved solids, and only then uses the DI resin to finish the job. The resin lasts much longer, so running costs drop.

That is why every Mansser machine uses a reverse osmosis membrane plus deionizing resin:

  • Mansser Osmo – 4-stage filtration (sediment filter, carbon filter, RO membrane, DI resin), a 0.56 kW motor and a pump delivering up to 8 l/min. It can draw water from an external tank, so you can work where there is no water connection.
  • Starkman Hydro S+ and Starkman Hydro S+ Power – semi-professional machines with a mechanical pre-filter, RO membrane and DI resin (0 ppm) and a built-in pump that can run from a tank. Designed for small and medium-sized jobs.

Complete water fed pole kits

If you are setting up from scratch, a kit is the simplest route. Each set combines a machine with poles, a brush, nozzles and an angle joint, ready to work.

Set 1 is built around the Starkman Hydro S+ with a 6 m (20 ft) composite pole and a MEDIUM 36 cm brush. It is a compact window cleaning system for houses and smaller PV installations.

Set 2 uses the Starkman Hydro S+ Power with heated water and a detergent feeder, plus a 10 m (33 ft) composite pole.

Set 3, Set 4 and Set 5 are professional systems built on the Mansser Osmo. Each has a 6 m composite pole and a 15 m (49 ft) carbon pole. They differ in brushes, nozzles and the range of jobs they are configured for. Set 4 targets large glazing and PV farms. Set 5 also covers plaster and metal facades, vehicles and machinery.

Set 6 adapts the Mansser Osmo for farms: PV on agricultural buildings, facades, warehouses and machinery, with a 10 m composite pole.

Features that make a difference on the job

Heated water. The heating module raises water temperature by about 15-25°C (27-45°F) above the inlet temperature. Warm water cleans faster. On hot, sunny days it also narrows the temperature gap between the water and the solar panel, which reduces the risk of thermal shock and micro-cracks in the cells.

Detergent feeder. A peristaltic pump doses cleaning chemicals precisely, so you can deal with grease, mineral deposits, algae or lichen without high pressure.

SoftWash. This mode bypasses filtration and boosts pressure for deep cleaning of porous surfaces such as render, roofs and stone.

Remote control (optional on Mansser Osmo). Operate the machine from up to 100 m away. This is useful on roofs, large halls and long rows of solar panels.

Who are these systems for?

Window cleaners moving to pure water, solar panel cleaning contractors and O&M teams, facility managers who want to cut lift hire costs, and farms with PV on their buildings. If you are starting a cleaning business, see our guide to pure water window cleaning equipment. It walks through the whole setup, from the machine to the pole and brush.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

It depends on your water and your work. With hard water and full-time use, an RO/DI system pays off through lower resin costs. For high-rise or solar farm work, choose a machine with a strong pump and heated water, such as the Mansser Osmo. For occasional residential jobs, a compact system like the Starkman Hydro S+ is often enough.

Prices depend on the machine, the poles and the modules. A starter kit costs far less than a heated professional system with a 15 m carbon pole. Current prices are listed on each product page, and if you need a custom configuration, contact us for a quote.

No. Both the Mansser Osmo and the Starkman Hydro S+ machines can draw water from a tank, so you can clean solar farms and remote sites without mains water.

The Mansser Osmo supports two operators at the same time. Add a second hose and a splitter to run two poles from one unit.

Yes. Pure water leaves no mineral residue on the glass, and with a soft nylon brush it cleans panels without abrasive chemicals. Heated water also lowers the risk of thermal shock on hot days. Always follow the panel manufacturer’s cleaning guidelines.
